Sending Hugs - Stitched Hearts

Hello Lovely.  I'm back today with a bit of stitching.  I'm really enjoying stitching and how portable this can be.  Last weekend we took a long weekend and I packed a bit of stitching with me.  It was perfect for the car ride and to keep my hands busy while we relaxed in the hotel room.  I was able to complete a few stitched tags during our weekend getaway, this is just one of them.

I currently only have one stitching die so you might get tired of it by the time I get another one, but I love it.  This tag was cut from kraft cardstock using the MFT Die-namics Scalloped Cross-Stitch Tag die.  I used this pattern from MFT free printable resources and stitched the hearts with DMC size 5 embroidery thread #926.  I finished the tag by backing it with a solid tag of the die cut in kraft cardstock, added some gauze ribbon to the top and tied a bow with matching string.  I stamped "Sending Hugs" in the lower right corner onto a card base that matched the thread, then added the tag to the card base.

Copic Coloring - Smile

Hello Lovely.  Today's card is a Copic coloring card.  I'm still learning, but I really love the way these markers blend together to create a variegated effect.

I stamped the MFT Wavy Coloring Book Background on to Strathmore Mixed Media Paper with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink, which is Copic friendly ink.  All of the Copic colors I used are listed below.  The three main blends I used were B99, B93, and C3; BG10, BG15, and YG41; YG67, YG63, and BG72.  I also added a bit of detail with some black Copic friendly marker.  The completed colored panel was die cut with Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles.  I completed the card by adding foam tape to the back of the colored panel, mounted it to a green card base, and added "smile" die cut from white cardstock using the Mama Elephant Smile Die.

Ink Blended Cards - Thanks

Hello Lovely.  I'm back with more ink blending.  This is my go-to technique when I need to make several cards in a short amount of time.  It's also my favorite technique, maybe because I find blending the inks so relaxing.

I'm tickled with how bright and fun these color blends turned out.  I needed these to be more masculine, so I chose shades of yellow, orange, blue and green.  I used the stencil masking technique I'm so fond of and created four backgrounds.

The first two cards were created in shades of yellow, green and blue.  The card on the left is blended with Distress Inks in Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, and Mermaid Lagoon.  The card on the right is blended with Distress Inks in Wild Honey, Peacock Feathers, and Chipped Saphire.

The second two cards are were created in shades of yellow and orange.  The card on the left is blended from the bottom up with Distress Inks in Rusty Hinge, Ripe Persimmon, and Mustard Seed.  The card on the right is blended from the bottom up with Distress Inks in Ripe Persimmon, Wild Honey, and Mustard Seed.

I stamped the same sentiment from the Papertrey Ink's retired set Thanks All Ways, using VersaFine Onyx Black ink.  Each panel was die cut with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles dies, matted on black cardstock and then added to a white card base.
