April 2016 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit

I'll be honest, not only is this my first Simon Says Stamp Card Kit, it's my first paper crafting kit ever. I've never been a kit club joiner, I've always just created with products I love. Recently it's become a bit more challenging for me. The biggest factor is being 100 miles from anywhere that sells supplies and my shift to ordering nearly everything online. I found myself hesitating to buy new products because I couldn't touch them first. Yes, I'm a sensory person and if products don't feel good in my hands I'm less likely to use them. So, in an effort to open myself up to new products, I decided to take the plunge and join a kit club. I also decided a kit club would be a great way to break out of some of my creative ruts.

The Simon Says Stamp Card Kit is a nice sampling of goodies. I got 12 sheets of Simple Stories 6x6 double sided pattern paper, a set of Simon Says Stamps, a jar of WOW embossing powder in black, a package of Simple Stories stickers, a package of Simple Stories clips and five sheets of Simon Says super heavy really nice cardstock. and an idea sheet with six card ideas.

If I were to use just the paper in the kit I could make ten cards easy. I know I'll get much more out of this kit than ten cards. I'm excited to work with these products. This kit is the perfect way to sample products and stretch my wings. The only things in this kit I would have bought on my own would have been the embossing powder and the cardstock. The stamp set isn't my usual style, nor are the Simple Stories products. However, all of this has been picked to coordinate and work together to create beautiful cards, making me love what I got even more.

We've talked about the kit and why I chose to join a kit club, but let's talk about why I selected Simon Says Stamp. I looked at a number of clubs and found that many of them are scrapbook or planner kits. There really aren't a lot of kits for card makers, but that isn't the only reason I picked Simon. I looked back through their past kits and found that, unlike many of the other kit clubs, Simon kits vary in style and contents each month. Most of the other kit clubs, I looked at, seemed pretty basic and generic - stamps, papers, embellishments, cardstock. Simon is the only kit I found that sends products like embossing powder, ink pad, wafer thin dies and distress markers.

I'm excited to spend my weekend playing with the new goodies that came in this kit. I need to work on Birthday Cards for May and this kit is perfect for that.
